Job description

Job Summary:

To provide diagnostic services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, including clerical duties as required. To perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concepts and reflects the KPNW Mission and philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic procedures using the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with Cardiologists.
• Assist patients with transportation.
• Data entry, file work, restocking supplies, cleaning, quality assurance functions, and other duties as assigned.
• Participate in on-call or standby schedule as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience: N/A

Education: A minimum of a two (2) year AMA-approved program with successful completion of one year of Ultrasound training and certification, OR two (2) years of Allied Health education with successful completion and certification of a two (2) year ARDMS program, OR successful completion of an AMA-accredited Ultrasound program with ARDMS registration or CardioVascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification (new grads within one (1) year of hire for registration). High School Diploma or GED required.

License, Certification, Registration: Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certificate within 12 months of hire from CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate within 12 months of hire from ARDMS. Sonography Technologist License (Oregon). Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.

Additional Requirements:

Completion of a formal training program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with TEE, Stress Echo, and Pediatric Echocardiography.
• Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, technical skills, initiative, communication, interpersonal skills, customer and organizational relations.
• Adaptability, adherence to Policies and Procedures, flexibility.
• Ability to work independently, perform exams confidently and independently.

Notes:

This position supports the ECHO department at Westside Medical Center (same campus).
