Job summary

Santé Health System in Fresno, CA seeks a full-time Sonographer to perform ultrasound diagnostic tests at Central Valley Women's Health Associates. The role also supports workflow direction with the Lead Physician and Team Leader in a busy clinical setting.

Applicants should have basic ultrasound knowledge, maintain records, and ensure safety throughout procedures. Certification and ongoing education are valued, with fetal-echo accreditation preferred.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or equivalent education plus experience.
• Graduate from a school of Radiology Technology or Nursing.
• Six months of ultrasonographic experience or AMA-accredited program with ultrasound certification.
• Fetal echo accreditation and board certification preferred.
• RDMS, CRT, ARRT or RN license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ultrasound workflows in collaboration with Lead Physician and Team Leader.
• Perform ultrasound scans on patients as per standard procedures.
• Maintain and stock ultrasound supplies and equipment.
• Download and log ultrasound machines and review maintenance logs.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and participate in staff development.

Job description

A challenging and rewarding opportunity awaits a new full time Sonographer at one of our busy sitesCentral Valley Women's Health Associatesin Fresno, CA. This role provides ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients. Also assists with direction of workflow for other ultrasound techs in collaboration with Lead Physician and Team Leader

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduation from aschool of Radiology Technology or Nursing.
• Minimum of six months Ultrasonigraphic experienceor graduation from an AMA approved program in Ultrasonography with certification in diagnosticultrasound.
• Fetal echo accreditation and board certification preferred.
• AUIM (American Instituteof Ultrasound in Medicine), CRT (Certified Radiology Technologist, ARRT (American Registry ofRadiologic Technologist) or RN (Registered Nurse) license.
• RDMS (Registry Diagnostic MedicalSonography) preferred.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint area of imaging.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
• Skill in operating ultrasound equipment.
• Skill in taking vital signs.
• Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
• Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staffand the public.
• Ability to identify, monitor and assign workflows.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work in collaboration with Lead Physician and Team Leader to monitor ultrasound tech workflows
2. Report any questions or concerns to Lead Physician and/or Team Leader as appropriate
3. Perform ultrasound scan on patients as per normal procedure.
4. Maintain ultrasound equipment and order and stock all ultrasound supplies.
5. Download and log ultrasound machines.
6. Review ultrasound cleaning logs on a timely basis.
7. Review Citex probe log timely.
8. Keep work area clean.
9. Attend required meetings.
10. Participate in staff development, educational activities and maintain current certifications and accreditations (including American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and Fetal EchoAccreditation and Board Certification).
11. Request assistance with placing patients, etc., as needed.
12. Maintain patient confidentiality
