Responsibilities
  • Complete all functions necessary in performing quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and vascular studies.
  • Report interpretations to physicians upon completion.
  • Work with general supervision, structuring your own work patterns within a general outline, and refer unusual situations or problems to physicians or supervisors.
  • Travel to rural locations may be required.
Essential Functions
  • Perform echocardiograms, vascular studies, and stress echoes as directed by physicians.
  • Assist in pulling patients back, preparing patients for ultrasounds and vascular studies.
  • Schedule PM's on ultrasound equipment when needed.
  • Assist in calling service on equipment as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork such as daily exam reports and logs.
  • Prepare room and equipment in advance, keep the area clean, orderly, and stocked.
  • Ability to carry and transport portable ultrasound equipment as needed.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint areas of imaging.
  • Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current ARDMS or CCI, or registry eligible and pass registry within one year of hire; BLS certification.
  • Experience: Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging; one year of experience preferred.
  • Working Knowledge: Ability to manipulate ultrasound equipment, detect abnormal pathology, send high-quality exams to PACS, and complete studies in the Cerner System.
