Qualifications

  • Licensed Sonographer in Florida (if applicable).
  • Sufficient training and experience for independent procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams using identifiers.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures.
  • Perform routine and advanced sonography imaging.
  • Maintain clean work area and sanitize equipment.

Skills

Sonography certification in imaging specialty

Education

Job description

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes, taking a patient‑centered approach, and providing Sonography services within professional standards with excellent customer service. You will enjoy a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work at multiple locations throughout Southeast Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Sonography Imaging (90%)
    • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure.
    • Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures, including positioning for appropriate imaging.
    • Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision, supporting patients throughout the procedure.
    • Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed.
    • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
    • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment to promote safety for patients and team members.
    • Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Sonography Department Support (5%)
    • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
    • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
    • Assists with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
    • Completes other tasks and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA‑accredited sonography program, or CAAHEP.
  • Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing.
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.).
  • Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
  • OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Bilingual.
