Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a qualified Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist for per diem coverage. The role involves operating ultrasound scanners, imaging various body parts for diagnosis, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You will follow physician orders, document results in RIS, and support protocol updates and training as needed. The ideal candidate is ARDMS registered, with an AMA-accredited program background, and CPR certified, able to work independently and provide high-quality

Qualifications

• AMA accredited sonography program graduate or equivalent (CAAHEP preferred).
• Registered ARDMS sonographer in good standing.
• Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.).
• Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (as applicable).
• Current CPR certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform sonography procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate scanners to produce diagnostic images of the patient’s body.
• Explain procedures and position patients for imaging.
• Screen patients for precautions and contraindications prior to exams.
• Adjust scan parameters and follow physician orders accurately.
• Maintain patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Keep the work area safe, clean and compliant with ACR standards.
• Assist with protocol manuals, software upgrades, and training.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This position is per diem, shifts will vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Sonography Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Sonography Department Support

1. Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Other Duties as Assigned

1. Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Required:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
3. Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
4. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
5. Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
6. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
7. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently

Preferred:

1. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
2. OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
3. Bilingual
