Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Minnesota is seeking a Part-time Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist (20–29 hrs/wk) to operate assigned scanner(s) and provide patient-centered imaging for diagnostic purposes.

The role supports imaging procedures Monday–Friday 4:00pm–8:00pm with no weekend or on-call requirements; pay ranges from $31.65 to $51.29 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA or CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
  • Registered ARDMS sonographer in good standing.
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB/BR/ObGyn, etc.).
  • Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned scanner(s) to produce images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Screen patients before exam and verify identity.
  • Explain procedures and position patients for imaging.
  • Perform routine and advanced sonography procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust scan parameters as needed and follow physician orders.
  • Maintain patient records in RIS and ensure safety.
  • Keep work area clean and equipment sanitized.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Assist with department support and training as needed.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a part-time position working Monday-Friday (all 5 days) from 4:00pm-8:00pm, no weekends or call.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(90%) Sonography Imaging
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
  • Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
  • Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Sonography Department Support
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Other Duties as Assigned
  • Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
  • Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently
Preferred
  • Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
  • OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Bilingual
