Qualifications

  • Graduation from AMA-accredited sonography program or CAAHEP-accredited program.
  • Registered ARDMS in diagnostic medical sonography with current standing.
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB/BR/ObGyn, etc.).
  • Licensed sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable).
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound scanners to produce diagnostic images.
  • Screen patients prior to exams and explain procedures.
  • Position patients and adjust imaging parameters as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the RIS and comply with safety regulations.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and aid in protocol updates.
  • Provide training to new team members when required.

RAYUS now offers DailyPay! Work today, get paid today! The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00 based on direct and relevant experience. RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Breast Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Sonography Imaging (90%)
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
  • Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
  • Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
Sonography Department Support (5%)
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
  • Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
  • Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently
Preferred
  • Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
  • OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Bilingual
  • Breast experience
