Job Summary

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, providing quality images for interpretation. Must be a registered sonographer with at least two registries relevant to the department, such as ABD/OB, ABD/MSK, ABD/BR, or OB/FE.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use second registry in primary or secondary department at least 30% of the time.
• Set up and adjust equipment, maneuver transducers, and perform exams.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control.
• Recognize structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment issues.
• Ensure equipment functionality, report malfunctions, and lock/tag out if needed.
• Submit high-quality images promptly to PACS with proper labeling.
• Maintain a clean and organized department environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Completion of a Sonography program.

Experience

• No experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, walking, and patient handling.
• Frequent use of vision, hearing, speech, and manual dexterity.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and repetitive movements.

Licenses and Certifications

Must hold BLS (AHA), RDMS with appropriate specialties (e.g., AB, BR, OB/GYN, RVS, RVT, FE), and other relevant ARDMS or CCI credentials as specified for the location.
