Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, primarily General and Vascular imaging, with Echocardiography experience preferred.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, compassionate care, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting. This on-site role offers a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits, with a schedule Monday through Friday

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
  • RDMS or equivalent credential required.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Ability to perform General and Vascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Echo experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality General and Vascular ultrasound examinations per physician orders.
  • Conduct Echocardiography examinations when qualified.
  • Obtain and evaluate diagnostic images for accuracy and completeness.
  • Document patient information and imaging results in EMR and PACS.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging rooms in a clean, safe state.

NATURE OF WORKFairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. The Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions. This position is primarily responsible for General and Vascular ultrasound imaging, with Echocardiography experience preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced healthcare environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform high quality General and Vascular ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.Perform Echocardiography examinations when qualified and as needed.Obtain and evaluate diagnostic images to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to physician interpretation.Review patient history and clinical information to optimize examination quality and support accurate diagnoses.Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and provide compassionate care throughout the examination process.Position and prepare patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety.Recognize and document significant findings and communicate urgent concerns to the appropriate provider in accordance with departmental procedures.Accurately document patient information, examination details, and imaging results within the electronic medical record and PACS systems.Maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging rooms to ensure cleanliness, operational readiness, and compliance with safety standards.COMPENSATION: $29.00-$45.00 per hourSCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., four days per week, with alternating Wednesdays and Fridays off.BENEFITS403(b) Retirement PlanDental Insurance PlanVision Insurance PlanShort and Long Term Disability InsuranceVoluntary Life Insurance PlanPaid Time Off (Vacation/Sick/Illinois Paid Leave/Holiday)Flexible Work SchedulesProfessional Development OpportunitiesWHAT FMH HAS TO OFFERFairfield Memorial Hospital is a mission focused healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, with a strong commitment to improving the health and well‑being of our community through compassionate service, clinical excellence, and a supportive culture that empowers employees to do their best work.
