Job summary

Harwood-Internationa is seeking a skilled Sommelier to guide guests through wine and champagne selections in an upscale, high-volume setting. You will tailor recommendations to each guest’s taste and budget, while explaining pairings with the menu and desserts.

Responsibilities include presenting wines professionally, maintaining pour standards, and anticipating guest needs with a friendly, guest-first approach. Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sommelier in an upscale, high-volume restaurant.
• CMS or WSET certifications preferred or equivalent from another accredited wine institution.
• Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques.
• Availability to work nights, weekends & holidays.
• A “guest-first” mindset and passion for providing exemplary guest service.
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Ability to take direction and to communicate effectively.

• Anticipate guest needs. Provide information to guests regarding our venues, menus and pricing
• Explain how our wines, or champagne menu compliments the items on our food and dessert menu
• Ensure all wines are presented and served correctly and all pouring techniques are adhered to as specified by company standards
• Inform and explain alternative wine selections to guests should their choice be unavailable
• Provide engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests
• Perform all other duties as instructed by management

Requirements:
