Job summary

Ci Siamo Boston, part of Union Square Hospitality Group, is opening a new location at Commonwealth Pier. The Sommelier will lead wine service, collaborate with the Beverage Director, and enhance guest experiences with knowledgeable guidance.

The role supports Enlightened Hospitality, education for the team, and a wine program designed to drive guest satisfaction and revenue. Eligible perks and growth opportunities apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Sommelier or wine service role.
• Availability for lunch shifts.
• Strong knowledge in wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• English fluency; additional languages preferred but not required.

Ci Siamo is a restaurant from Danny Meyer\u2019s Union Square Hospitality Group and James Beard semifinalist Chef Hillary Sterling. Located at Manhattan West, this NYT Top 100 restaurant celebrates the beauty of simplicity centering around live-fire cooking. The Italian-inflected menu takes inspiration from Chef Sterling\u2019s extensive travels and is rooted in the understated excellence of seasonal ingredients and purposeful preparations. Ci Siamo, which loosely translates to "we've made it" or "we've arrived", bridges the traditional with the contemporary to introduce a new space that is at once transportive yet warmly familiar.

Located at Commonwealth Pier, an exciting new waterfront project within the Seaport neighborhood, Ci Siamo Boston looks forward to assembling a talented opening team in our new home.

Who you are:

An integral member of the restaurant\u2019s Service team, the Sommelier is responsible for providing our guests with a memorable wine experience and ensuring the excellence and creativity of the beverage program. The Sommelier is trusted partner to fellow sommeliers, bartenders, and service staff and acts as an extension of the Beverage Director, aiding in service and operation of the wine and beverage program.

What you’ll do:

• Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality


• Partner with Beverage Director to create and maintain an enticing wine program that enhances the guest experience


• Provide guests with a memorable experience by providing guidance and suggestions of wine and beverage selections


• Educate service team on wine, beer, spirits, cocktail and non-alcoholic beverage items in a way that adds value and fuels the team\u2019s desires to learn and grow


• Deliver a financially responsible wine program that results in increased sales and maintains an inventory that is in-line with the restaurant\u2019s revenue and business levels


• Demonstrate flexibility and a wide range of skills and knowledge in all service position and an eagerness to continue to learn and grow

What we need from you:

• 2+ years experience as a Sommelier or wine service role


• Availability for lunch shifts


• Strong knowledge in wine, spirits, beer, and N/A beverages


• English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required


• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
