Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services seeks skilled CAT III Somali Linguists to provide interpretation and translation services in support of U.S. operations and mission requirements.

Responsibilities include transcription/translation, decoding cultural context, and document exploitation for intelligence and mission-critical reporting. Must be a U.S. citizen with ILR level 3 as well as strong computer literacy and geo-political knowledge; security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• ILR level 3 in both Target Language and English; native proficiency preferred, not required.
• Must have at least 2 years' interpretation/translation experience.
• Must have document exploitation skills.
• Must have in-depth geo-political knowledge.
• Able to perform idiomatic translations with correct syntax.
• Able to conduct consecutive and accurate translations and interpretations.

Responsibilities

• Provide foreign language support services including transcription and translation/interpretation (from English to Somali or vice versa).
• Provide cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations with expert opinion.
• Perform document exploitation—scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information for military requirements.
