• Engage with students, staff and families to promote and support Somali student achievement through bridging the gap between the culture at home and the learning environment.
• Promote meaningful communication between home and school.
• Work with individual or small groups of students so as to reduce the role of race in predicting student outcomes.
• Provide information and insight to educatorsand Special Education IEP teams about students'race, cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic background.
• Assist educators and leaders in understanding how racial, cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic factors impact educational progress.
• Facilitate students' parents' understanding and involvement in the educational program and knowledge of their rights under district policies.
