Solutions Engineer – Radio Frequency Geolocation (RFGL)

As an RFGL Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in the success of our Space Reconnaissance business unit by supporting technical engagements related to Spire’s RF geolocation capabilities. This role focuses on providing space-based signals intelligence (SIGINT) and emitter geolocation services to US and allied government customers. You will collaborate directly with account executives and product leaders to understand mission needs, craft compelling RFGL solutions, and accelerate deal velocity. Your technical insight and customer-first approach will be instrumental in advancing critical national security and ISR missions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for RFGL prospects and existing customers throughout the sales cycle
  • Design tailored solutions for RF geolocation needs using Spire’s LEO-based TDOA/FDOA capabilities
  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and documentation that articulate Spire’s RFGL value to stakeholders
  • Liaise with engineering, RF operations, and product teams to scope and prioritize customer requirements
  • Translate customer mission objectives into viable geolocation configurations, delivery formats, and SLAs
  • Act as a subject matter expert on space-based RF collection, emitter detection, and signals analysis workflows
  • Identify and address technical gaps in the RFGL portfolio and support roadmap development
  • Contribute to pricing estimates, proposals, and data trials in collaboration with account teams
  • Support the pursuit of government tenders, RFPs, and partner-led engagements focused on RF intelligence

Key Skills:

  • Experience in signals intelligence (SIGINT), RF engineering, or related satellite ISR domain
  • Proven track record in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems integration
  • Familiarity with RF spectrum operations, TDOA/FDOA geolocation, GNSS signals, and VHF/UHF/L-band emitters is preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas for diverse stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting US and international defense customers
  • Proficiency in Linux and scripting tools (e.g., Python) used for RF data analysis
  • Knowledge of space systems, payloads, satellite tasking, and ground processing pipelines is preferred but not essential

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on familiarity with tools like IQEngine, MATLAB, or RF signal simulators
  • Knowledge of cloud-based RF data processing architectures (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, containerized pipelines)
  • Understanding of multi-INT fusion including AIS, radar, and GNSS alongside RFGL
  • Experience in proposing or responding to RFI/RFPs in the defense or intelligence sector

Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses—this is not something candidates need to have before applying.
