About the Role
The Data Center Solutions Engineer administers costing estimates for projects utilizing existing product lines (specifically mechanical systems) as well as costing and timeline estimates for new products via prototyping and manufacturing process performance analysis. They coordinate with the sales team and qualified dealers to clarify design requirements, communicate intended product usage, and diagnose the ideal products for each use-case.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- Evaluates construction specifications and provides product recommendations to meet project requirements.
- Interprets project needs from Sales Engineers and communicates feasibility, lead times, and potential challenges.
- Creates quotes for new design and maintains design history throughout quoting process.
- Provides application engineering support for existing and future products designed to support the Mission Critical/Data Center space and containment solutions.
- Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
- Identifies trends in Data Center design and helps guide R&D in the development of new products to respond to market requirements.
- Attends Data Center tradeshows and conferences.
- Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a focus in Mechanical or Plumbing systems, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
- Experience completing electrical infrastructure surveys and measurement a plus.
- General knowledge base of server technology and associated hardware required.
- General knowledge base of cooling technologies and strategies to condition the Data Center environment required.
- Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Revit experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
