Job summary

SmartBear, headquartered in Somerville, MA, is seeking a Solutions Engineer to accelerate technical sales cycles for Swagger and API Lifecycle solutions. You will partner with Sales to drive discovery, demos, and PoCs, translating customer needs into practical API strategies and scalable software solutions.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, building reusable assets and expanding expertise in APIs, cloud, and DevOps to help customers modernize their API

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or similar customer-facing tech role.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI, API governance and software architecture.
• Experience delivering demos and PoCs to enterprise customers.
• Familiar with CI/CD, cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices.

• Partner with Sales throughout technical sales cycle including discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and evaluations.
• Consult with architects, developers, and engineering leaders on API strategies.
• Deliver compelling demonstrations showcasing Swagger's capabilities.
• Translate complex customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to share customer feedback.

About the Role

We are looking for you if you have

• 4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, Software Engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specification, API development, and modern software architecture.
• Experience delivering demonstrations and proof of concepts for enterprise customers.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, cloud technologies, DevOps, or application integration.
• Strong communication , discovery, and consultative problem-solving skills.
• A passion for helping customers solve technical challenges while partnering across Sales, Product, and Engineering.
