Job summary

PDI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Engineer I to support our POS solutions and assist in the pre-sales process. You will work with Sales and experienced Solutions Engineers to prepare demonstrations, perform technical discovery, and help with solution development to address customer needs.

You will gain expertise in POS systems, payment processing, and integrations while developing consultative selling skills and customer-facing capabilities in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution consulting, technical support, systems engineering, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of POS systems, payment processing, software applications, or related technologies.
• Basic understanding of system integrations, APIs, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to learn new technologies.
• Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support customer-facing activities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, demonstration environments, or technical documentation tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the pre-sales process by gathering customer requirements and identifying appropriate technical solutions.
• Assist with customer discovery sessions to understand business needs, technical requirements, and potential solution opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver standard product demonstrations, with guidance on more complex customer scenarios.
• Support the development of technical proposals, RFP responses, and other sales materials.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot demonstration environments to ensure successful customer presentations.
• Develop knowledge of PDI's POS solutions, payment processing capabilities, integrations, and related technologies.
• Partner with Sales and experienced Solutions Engineers to address customer questions and communicate product capabilities.
• Assist with documenting customer requirements, technical configurations, and proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to understand solution capabilities, limitations, and customer feedback.
• Contribute to internal documentation, demonstration scripts, and knowledge-sharing resources to support team effectiveness.
