Job summary

Plug Consulting is seeking a Mortgage Solutions Engineer in New York City to own the technical customer journey across the Mortgage vertical, spanning pre-sales, implementation, onboarding and ongoing adoption.

You'll lead integrations, run discovery sessions with lenders, configure REST API connections and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. This hybrid, customer-facing role offers significant ownership and equity in a fast-growing fintech.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation or technical account management.
• Experience within mortgage, banking, insurance or financial services is required.
• Hands-on experience scoping, implementing or demonstrating technical integrations with customers.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and modern SaaS integrations.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

We're partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed fintech building modern infrastructure for highly regulated financial-services workflows.

The company has strong enterprise traction, including major household-name customers, and has recently raised a significant Series A following rapid revenue growth and strong retention.

The Role

You'll own the technical customer journey for the company's growing Mortgage vertical, working across pre-sales, implementation, onboarding and ongoing adoption.

This is a highly customer-facing role for someone who understands enough technology to lead integrations and technical conversations, but also has the commercial judgement and communication skills to build strong client relationships.

You'll be responsible for:

• Acting as the technical and product expert during customer conversations and pre-sales
• Running discovery and solution-design sessions with mortgage lenders and financial-services customers
• Scoping, configuring and implementing customer integrations
• Leading onboarding, training and adoption across SaaS, POS and Loan Origination System integrations
• Working with REST APIs and answering technical integration questions directly with customers
• Running product demonstrations and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Gathering customer feedback and helping influence product priorities
• Building documentation, implementation resources and repeatable processes as the Mortgage Solutions function scales

What We're Looking For:

• 3-7 years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation, technical account management or another customer-facing technical role
• Experience within mortgage, banking, insurance or financial services (must have)
• Hands-on experience scoping, implementing or demonstrating technical integrations directly with customers
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and modern SaaS integrations
• Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting to both technical and business stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment without established playbooks
• Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) or Mortgage Point of Sale platforms is highly desirable
• Experience with banking integrations and financial-services APIs is desirable
