Job summary

Aflac, Incorporated is seeking a senior technical leader with deep knowledge in systems products and solutions. You will design tailored solutions, integrate across domains, and collaborate with sales and product teams to meet client needs.

You will influence cloud design, oversee timelines, and mentor junior staff while working in a hybrid/remote setup depending on location within the continental US. A strong background in SAP and data processing is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or information systems or related field.
• Eight or more years of solutions-based data processing experience with systems engineering, OS, and network design/configuration/management.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs and design technical solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure feasible solutions.
• Recommend improvements to current systems and processes.
• Ensure cloud-compatible solutions and optimize cloud resources.

Salary Range: $160,000-$195,000

Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

• If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
• If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor's Degree Computer science or information systems or other related field
• Eight or more years of solutions-based data processing experience with a concentration in systems engineering, operating systems and network design/configuration and management

• Master's Degree Computer science or information systems or other related field
• Rich experience with multiple SAP products and methodologies.
• Expert level experience with SAC, including Design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere
• Design experience with OpEx, CapEX and Headcount Planning.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs and design corresponding technical solutions
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure solutions are achievable and align with technical
• Recommend improvements to current systems and processes
• Ensure solutions are cloud-compatible and optimize cloud resources
• Oversee project timelines and deliverables
• Participates on multiple project teams, installs operating systems or major subsystems and associated software and hardware products; enhances activities, and performs as related maintenance and support; backups manager as necessary
• Mentors less experienced personnel in their specific areas of expertise
• Provides expertise to internal and external clients as needed related to problems with business s olutions
• Recommends design and performance improvements based on analysis of assigned specifications, planning, designing, and implementing software solutions, uses appropriate software engineering processes
• Provides technical consulting on highly complex issues surrounding the use of the organization’s infrastructure and on the integration of application systems into the infrastructure
• Maintains a current understanding of systems software and IT architecture, products, services, processes, and methodologies; evaluates technology options and makes recommendations to management
• Performs other duties as required

The salary range for this job is $160,000 to $195,000 . This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
