Job summary

Ikuto is seeking a Solutions Engineer to act as the technical partner to our sales team and bridge developers with product. You will write code, run live API demos, and build rapid prototypes using AI coding agents to accelerate deals.

Based in the SF area, you will collaborate with Lead Engineers and founders to design secure integrations and demonstrate how our developer APIs fit into customers’ stacks.

Qualifications

Solutions Engineer – AI & Developer Infrastructure

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 OTE (80/20 split) + High-Upside Equity

About the Role

We are hiring a Solutions Engineer to serve as the technical partner to the sales team and the bridge between software developers and product.

Our client is a high-growth, $2B Series C developer platform backed by tier-one VCs (Meritech, Sapphire), with revenue doubling year-over-year. They build the core security, enterprise identity, and Agent Auth infrastructure powering category leaders like OpenAI, Cursor, Perplexity, Vercel, and Plaid.

In this role, you will work directly with Lead Engineers, CTOs, and founders to demonstrate how developer APIs integrate seamlessly into their stack. You won't just present—you will write code, run live API walk-throughs, and build rapid 01 prototypes using modern AI coding agents (Claude, Cursor) to unblock deals and accelerate technical adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Technical Discovery & Pre-Sales: Partner with Account Executives to run discovery, evaluate customer architectures, and design secure integration plans.
• Live Demos & Prototyping: Conduct live API code walk-throughs and leverage AI coding tools to build custom integration prototypes in 24-48 hours to remove technical friction.
• Technical Authority: Serve as the subject matter expert on authentication, SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM directory sync, and emerging Agent Authentication patterns.
• Product Feedback Loop: Translate real-world developer feedback from sales cycles directly into roadmap priorities for core engineering and product teams.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in a commercial, developer-facing pre-sales role (Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect).
• AI-Native Workflow: Active power user of AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to build software and ship code fast.
• Startup Mindset: High agency, resourceful, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth B2B SaaS environments.
• Location: Based in or willing to commute to the San Francisco office 2-3 days per week.
