Job summary

Ramp is seeking a Solutions Consultant, Public Sector to be the primary technical and financial advisor for government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofits evaluating Ramp. You will guide customers through technical discovery, tailor solutions for compliance, and deliver compelling demos highlighting Ramp’s ability to modernize financial workflows.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture at a SaaS or fintech company.
• Strong background in financial systems, accounting workflows, and ERP integrations.
• Hands-on expertise with API integrations, SFTP configurations, and security protocols.
• Experience supporting public sector organizations, with procurement processes and compliance knowledge.
• Ability to influence executive stakeholders across technical and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery & demos for public sector prospects and deliver customized demonstrations.
• Design secure, scalable public sector solutions leveraging APIs and ERP integrations.
• Collaborate with account executives to drive technical consensus across stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment with security/compliance requirements (FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS).
• Lead technical evaluations, respond to RFPs, and build ROI analyses.
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to prioritize integrations and share insights.
• Enable post-sale deployments with Customer Success to ensure value realization.
• Act as a thought leader in public sector finance modernization at events and workshops.

About the Role

As a Solutions Consultant, Public Sector at Ramp, you’ll serve as the primary technical and financial advisor for government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofits evaluating Ramp. You will guide prospective customers through technical discovery, design tailored solutions that align with compliance and security requirements, and deliver compelling demos that highlight Ramp’s ability to modernize financial workflows.

Partnering closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, you’ll act as the bridge between complex customer needs and Ramp’s platform capabilities. Your role is equal parts storyteller, architect, and trusted advisor—helping public sector organizations unlock efficiencies while navigating procurement, compliance, and multi-stakeholder environments.

What You'll Do

• Lead Technical Discovery & Demos: Conduct deep technical and workflow discovery with public sector prospects; deliver customized demos showcasing Ramp’s value for finance, procurement, and compliance teams.

• Design Public Sector Solutions: Architect secure, scalable solutions leveraging Ramp’s APIs, ERP integrations, and compliance frameworks to meet the unique needs of federal, state, and local governments.

• Partner in Complex Sales Cycles: Collaborate with Account Executives to drive technical consensus across diverse stakeholders, translating technical concepts into strategic outcomes.

• Support Security & Compliance Alignment: Ensure proposed solutions align with FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS, and relevant procurement requirements.

• Guide RFPs & Proposals: Lead technical evaluations, respond to RFPs, and build ROI analyses that demonstrate Ramp’s value.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to prioritize integrations and share public sector customer insights that shape Ramp’s roadmap.

• Enable Seamless Implementation: Partner with Customer Success on post-sale deployments, ensuring customers achieve value from Ramp quickly and securely.

• Act as a thought leader in public sector finance modernization: participating in industry events, conferences, and customer workshops.

What You Need

• 5-7 years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture at a SaaS or fintech company.

• Strong background in financial systems, accounting workflows, and ERP integrations.

• Hands-on expertise with API integrations, SFTP configurations, and security protocols.

• Experience supporting public sector organizations, with a working knowledge of procurement processes, compliance frameworks, and IT/security requirements.

• Ability to influence and present to executive stakeholders across technical and business functions.

• Proven success navigating long, multi-stakeholder sales/adoption cycles.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, finance, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with federal and state procurement frameworks.

• Experience with government financial systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP).

• Programming familiarity (Python, SQL, Java) for solution prototyping.

• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP).
