Job summary

McLeod Software, based in Birmingham, AL, seeks an ECS Solutions Architect to translate client needs into architectural designs for McLeod core software.

You will gather requirements, document gaps, and deliver DOUs and executive presentations, while mentoring Business Analysts and collaborating with Dev and QA to ensure acceptance criteria and high quality solutions.

Travel to customer sites is expected as part of BPR activities and Roadmap duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in a technical or software-focused role.
• Experience in software implementation, systems analysis, and technical consulting, preferred.
• Experience supporting complex customer workflows and leading functional or technical discovery, preferred.
• Familiarity with transportation and logistics industry is highly preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer consults and produce proper scope estimations for KTLO modifications within the ECS SDLC.
• Lead BPR activities including travel to customer sites, conducting interviews, and producing required documentation.
• Lead Roadmap duties including immersion training and conference room pilots; support DOUs for gaps or integrations.
• Ensure user stories/test cases define acceptance criteria for modifications.
• Review porting lists and provide ballpark estimates to support upgrades.
• Maintain product knowledge to enable customers to leverage base product and minimize modifications.
• Engage with Ancillary team SMEs on consuls and engage Developers for innovative solutions.
• Create functional design documents for custom programming; document current/future state processes and integration landscapes.
