Solutions Architect, Mission Critical Communications

Wildflower is seeking a Solutions Architect to develop integrated customer solutions across the full Motorola Solutions portfolio of hardware, software, and services. This includes land mobile radios and radio infrastructure, broadband push-to-talk, dispatch and command-center systems, video security, access control, digital evidence, cybersecurity, and managed services. The role also encompasses emerging capabilities expanded through Motorola’s recent acquisitions, including D-Fend counter-UAS technology, Silvus mobile ad hoc networking, CRFS radio-frequency sensing and geolocation, and Blue Eye AI-powered remote video monitoring. We welcome candidates with experience in Motorola Solutions or competing platforms from companies such as L3Harris, JVCKENWOOD, Tait, and Genetec. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with the ability to understand customer operations, connect complementary technologies, and engage manufacturer and integration partners. Working closely with Business Development, this architect will translate customer challenges into solution designs, demonstrations, technical proposals, and complete customer quotes while continually expanding expertise across Motorola’s evolving portfolio.

Position Summary

The Solutions Architect (SA) serves as Wildflower’s technical expert within an assigned technology discipline, working with Business Development to translate customer needs and operational challenges into practical, supportable solutions. The role leads technical discovery, develops solution designs, and prepares customer quotes in coordination with sales and partner teams. Proposed solutions must address the customer’s mission or business objectives, technical environment, budget, and implementation requirements. The Solutions Architect combines deep subject matter expertise with knowledge of Wildflower’s capabilities and technology partners to determine how customer problems can be solved. This position supports both established and emerging technologies, maintains current knowledge of artificial intelligence and its applications, and helps customers evaluate technology decisions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Partner with Business Development to investigate customer pain points, assess the existing environment, and define requirements, constraints, and measurable outcomes.
2. Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned opportunities and customer relationships.
3. Lead technical discussions and explain solution capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical audiences.
4. Design solutions that combine appropriate hardware, software, services, and support.
5. Evaluate compatibility, integration, performance, scalability, cybersecurity, lifecycle costs, and operational requirements within the assigned discipline.
6. Prepare and validate solution configurations, bills of materials, technical specifications, and customer quotes. Work with Inside Sales, suppliers, and partners to confirm pricing, licensing, required services, availability, and support coverage under Wildflower’s approval processes.
7. Maintain working knowledge of Wildflower’s manufacturer and service partners, their capabilities, and available technical resources. Engage the appropriate specialists to resolve customer needs, validate designs, and address gaps; recommend additional partners when needed.
8. Support Capture Management, Business Development, and Inside Sales with technical responses to requests for information, quotes, and proposals.
9. Plan and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept, coordinating partner resources as needed. Establish evaluation criteria, document results, and communicate any limitations before customer commitments are made.
10. Assess customer security, site, procurement, and regulatory requirements. Incorporate requirements into the proposed solution and identify issues requiring additional review.
11. Maintain current expertise through hands-on evaluation, manufacturer training, certifications, and ongoing research. Evaluate how AI, automation, and other emerging technologies can improve customer solutions within the assigned discipline.
12. Use company-approved AI tools to support research, analysis, solution development, and documentation. Independently validate outputs and protect customers, company, and government information in accordance with applicable requirements.
13. Maintain accurate opportunity documentation and provide a clear technical handoff to implementation, operations, and support teams. Communicate requirements, assumptions, dependencies, and open issues, and assist with technical clarification during delivery.
14. Travel to customer facilities, partner locations, demonstrations, training, and industry events as needed.
15. Perform other duties as assigned in support of Wildflower's vision, mission, values, and business objectives.
