Sony Electronics is seeking an Expert Solutions Architect to join our Network Solutions team, remotely based in Central or Western US. You will lead the technical aspects of the entire sales process, from business development and solution design to final proposal presentation. You will guide customers through technology options and solution designs, requiring broad knowledge of broadcast media applications, transport workflows, and the confidence to communicate effectively.

They provide valuable market feedback, influencing product development, and act as a key link between customer needs and Sony’s offerings. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, is well-organized, detail-oriented, and has a proven track record of delivering high customer satisfaction on time.

Job Description:

• Serve as the technical expert leading pre- and post-sales design and planning sessions.
• Work hands-on with customers to demonstrate implementation best practices for Sony’s Networked Solutions, including IP Live, Nevion, and IP hardware.
• Understand customer workflows, distinguishing requirements from wants, and position solutions accordingly.
• Present IP-based technologies and solutions to broadcasters, telecom operators, and partners.
• Act as the technical solution owner throughout the sales cycle.
• Analyze customer requirements for next-gen IP broadcast solutions.
• Design high-level solutions meeting customer needs.
• Develop detailed solution designs and Bills of Materials.
• Relay customer requests for new features to product management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical definitions, create proposals, and support SOW development.
• Participate in remote or onsite Proof-of-Concepts.
• Analyze customer data for validity and structure.
• Oversee solution implementation during delivery.
• Define and validate solutions to meet customer goals.
• Assist during technical planning to integrate Sony solutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams for product placement and improvements.
• Document technical and commercial requirements for clear communication.
• Gather customer feedback for product enhancements and innovation.
• Focus on product roadmaps to improve service value and hold vendors accountable.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field; Master’s or higher preferred.
• 5-7 years designing and deploying live broadcast environments.
• 3+ years supporting complex SMPTE ST 2110 IP media environments.
• Deep knowledge of video contribution technologies and compression algorithms (JPEG2000, JPEG XS, H.264, H.265, TICO).
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Robust knowledge of IP networking and broadcast technologies.
• Proven track record in technical solution selling.
• Comfortable working remotely and from home.
• Willingness to travel 90-120 days per year.

The base salary range is $101,000 to $134,000, depending on experience, skills, education, and location. Additional benefits include bonuses, healthcare, 401k matching, paid leave, education and student loan assistance, paid parental leave, and more.
