The Solutions Architect, Infor LN serves as a senior client-facing solution expert across presales, proposal development, and billable delivery work. This role partners closely with Sales and Delivery leadership to translate client needs into practical LN solution designs, support high-quality pursuits, and ensure that proposed solutions can be delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
1. Presales and Solution Architecture
- Support discovery sessions, demonstrations, and solution workshops with prospective and existing clients.
- Translate client business and operational requirements into LN solution designs, fit-gap assessments, and implementation approaches.
- Develop and present solution architecture materials, including scope narratives, solution diagrams, and competitive differentiators for proposals and RFPs.
- Provide effort estimates and delivery-risk input that inform pricing and commercial terms in partnership with the Practice Director and Sales VP.
- Represent Organization’s technical capability in client-facing sales meetings and executive presentations.
2. Proposal and RFP Development
- Contribute LN-specific technical and functional content to RFP responses, capability statements, and proposal narratives.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, aligned with Organization’s delivery methodology, and realistic given available resources.
- Collaborate with the Sales VP and Practice Director on competitive positioning against other Infor partners and adjacent ERP alternatives.
3. Client-Billable Delivery Work
- When not engaged in an active presales pursuit, serve as a billable consultant on sold LN engagements within area of functional or technical expertise.
- Maintain current, hands‑on proficiency with the latest LN release, tools, and implementation practices to remain credible with prospects and clients.
- Deliver project work to the same quality, timeliness, and professionalism standards expected of all consultants.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the connective tissue between sales and delivery, ensuring that what is sold can be delivered as scoped.
- Provide input to the Practice Director on staffing and resource needs for pursuits moving toward close.
- Flag delivery risks, scope gaps, or unrealistic assumptions during the sales cycle before contracts are signed.
- Participate in deal reviews and go/no-go discussions alongside the Sales VP and Practice Director.
5. Practice and Capability Development
- Build and maintain reusable presales assets, including demo scripts, discovery questionnaires, solution templates, and estimating tools.
- Contribute to thought leadership, case studies, and marketing content that highlight the LN practice's technical differentiation.
- Stay current on the Infor LN roadmap, CloudSuite Industrial, and adjacent technologies to inform solution positioning and client conversations.
6. Decision-Making Authority
- Provide effort estimates and solution scope recommendations for proposals and SOWs; final commercial approval rests with the Practice Director and Sales VP.
- Recommend staffing and delivery approach for pursuits in progress; final staffing decisions rest with the Practice Director.
- Represent Organization’s technical position in client meetings within the boundaries of approved proposals and pricing.
- Escalate scope, staffing, or delivery‑risk concerns identified during a sales cycle directly to the Practice Director and Sales VP before contract signature.
7.Performance Expectations and Key Metrics :
- Presales Win Rate: Contribute to improved win rate on LN pursuits where the Solutions Architect provided direct support
- Proposal Turnaround & Quality: Deliver technically sound scope, effort estimates, and solution content within agreed proposal timelines
- Scope-to-Delivery Accuracy: Minimal variance between sold scope/hours and actual delivery effort on engagements the Architect helped shape
- Billable Utilization: Meet practice utilization targets during periods without active presales assignments
- Sales & Delivery Feedback: Positive feedback from VP of Sales, Practice Director, and delivery teams on responsiveness and solution quality
- Asset & Capability Contribution: Contribute reusable presales assets, including demo scripts, estimating tools, and solution templates, each year
- Support the VP of Sales and Practice Director however necessary to advance a positive, credible client sales experience.
- Act with integrity and transparency in every client and internal interaction, particularly when raising delivery risk during a live pursuit.
- Communicate openly with the Sales VP and Practice Director, surfacing scoping or feasibility concerns proactively rather than after contract signature.
- Approach both the sales and delivery side of the role with the same standard of ownership expected of senior consultants.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and technical credibility in every external interaction.
- Uphold the practice standard of “no failed client engagements,” whether the work originated from a pursuit the Architect supported or was assigned independently.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands‑on Infor LN experience in a functional, technical, or solution consulting capacity, including full lifecycle implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex client requirements into clear, deliverable solution designs.
- Prior experience supporting or participating directly in sales cycles: discovery calls, demonstrations, solution workshops, or proposal development.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to present technical concepts to business audiences, including C-suite and operations leadership.
- Comfort operating in a role that shifts between presales support and billable delivery work based on business need.
- Working knowledge of LN scoping, estimating, and SOW development.
The anticipated salary range for this position is ($140,000-$150,000). Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
