Job summary

BearPlex, Inc. in Austin is seeking an experienced Enterprise AI Architect to translate complex enterprise problems into credible AI architectures, covering RAG, knowledge systems, and on-prem deployments.

You will lead technical pre-sales, map integrations to existing data sources, and shepherd implementations to ensure the delivered system mirrors the architecture you sold. Expect a role at the intersection of strategy and delivery.

Qualifications

The Role

Enterprise AI lives or dies on architecture. The difference between a pilot that stalls and a system a regulated US enterprise puts into production is almost always the design decisions made before a single line of code is written.

This role owns those decisions. You will sit at the intersection of pre-sales and delivery, translating enterprise problems into credible AI architectures spanning RAG, sovereign and on-prem deployment, and integration with existing systems, then carrying that vision into the build so what we promised is what we ship.

What You Will Do

• Design enterprise AI architectures. Scope and architect RAG, knowledge, and agent systems that meet real requirements for accuracy, security, and auditability.

• Lead technical pre-sales. Partner with prospects during the Diagnostic phase, run discovery, and produce architectures and proposals that earn trust on technical merit.

• Architect for sovereignty. Design sovereign cloud and on-prem deployments for clients with data residency, security, and compliance constraints.

• Plan integrations. Map how AI systems connect to enterprise data sources, identity, and existing applications, and surface the hard constraints early.

• Bridge to delivery. Hand off to and stay engaged with engineering pods so the delivered system matches the architecture you sold.

• Advise on model strategy. Guide choices between open-weight models, fine-tuning, and retrieval approaches based on the client's data, budget, and risk profile.

• Be the trusted technical voice. Represent BearPlex credibly to enterprise architects, security teams, and executives.

What We Are Looking For

• Shipped real systems. You have architected and delivered production software or AI systems, not slideware, and you can defend the decisions behind them.

• Enterprise AI fluency. You understand RAG, embeddings, open-weight models, fine-tuning, and the tradeoffs among them in real deployments.

• Cloud and infrastructure depth. You are strong on AWS, GCP, or Azure and can design for on-prem and sovereign constraints.

• Pre-sales credibility. You can run technical discovery, shape solutions, and win confidence with technical and executive buyers.

• Regulated-enterprise experience. You have worked with US enterprises that demand security, compliance, and auditability, and you speak their language.

• Clear communication. You translate fluently between business stakeholders and engineering teams, in writing and in the room.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on AI build experience. You have personally built RAG pipelines, agents, or fine-tuned models with Hugging Face and Python.

• Security and compliance grounding. Familiarity with frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or FedRAMP and their architectural implications.

• Kubernetes and IaC. Experience deploying with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.

• Austin presence. Ability to work hybrid from our Austin office for client and team collaboration.
