Job summary

VTG Defense in Virginia Beach seeks a Solutions Architect to deliver end-to-end defense and intelligence solutions. You will translate customer requirements into architectures, design proposals, and cost estimation, guiding cross-functional teams through capture activities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Defense/Intelligence experience with focus on business and proposal development.
• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Expertise in Cloud migration, IT, Systems Engineering and Integration, and software development.
• Strong understanding of government RFP processes and defense/intelligence proposals.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Design end-to-end solutions for Defense/Intelligence proposals meeting RFP specs.
• Lead the development of technical proposals, including design, implementation approach, and cost estimation.
• Provide technical guidance to the Business Development team throughout capture and proposal.
• Assess existing systems to identify improvements and develop innovative solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in defense and intelligence domains.
• Work with clients to address technical challenges and present benefits of proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless implementation and delivery.
• Mentor junior team members within BD and innovation teams.

Overview

VTG is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our Virginia Beach location.

What will you do?

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical solutions.
• Design and architect end-to-end solutions for Defense and Intelligence community proposals, ensuring they meet the specifications outlined in RFPs.
• Lead the development of technical proposals, including solution design, implementation approach, and cost estimation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the Business Development team throughout the capture and proposal process.
• Conduct assessments of existing systems and technologies to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, industry best practices, and emerging trends relevant to defense and intelligence domains.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to address their technical challenges and present the benefits of our proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with the operations and management team to ensure seamless implementation and delivery of solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the business development and innovation teams, fostering their professional growth and development.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience (15+ years) in the Defense and Intelligence community, with a focus on business and proposal development.
• Proven expertise in areas such as Cloud migration, IT, Systems Engineering and Integration, and software development.
• Strong understanding of government RFP processes and experience in developing technical proposals for Defense and Intelligence contracts.
• Excellent knowledge of intelligence analysis methodologies, data integration, and security requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting scalable and reliable solutions to complex technical problems.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, with a solid understanding of software development principles.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of Winning / High Scoring Technical Proposal Response.
• Strong leadership abilities and a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $58 - $80 per hour, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
