Job description

Vividly is the leading modern trade promotion management (TPM) solution built by and for the consumer packaged goods industry. From campaign creation to deductions management and promotion measurement, we help brands manage every element of trade spend. With our easy-to-use platform and industry-leading experience, we pride ourselves on our ability to bring businesses to the next level.

Not familiar with trade promotion spend? That’s OK. Most people aren’t. It’s an $8 trillion dollar problem that is ripe for disruption by an innovative SaaS startup. In order to grow, consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands spend 20% of their topline revenue to get into retailers and promote their products within those retailers. The problem is that today 70% of those promotions are not ROI positive. This is because ROI is hard to track. The industry operates on emails, pdfs, and xls spreadsheets. At Vividly, we’re solving this massive problem with exciting tactics including AI, Machine Learning, and Fintech and adding value to everyone in the chain. Some of our customers include brands you may use and love - Liquid Death, Amy’s, and Perfect Snacks.

We’re looking for a Solutions Architect who can bridge the gap between what our customers need to accomplish and how Vividly should be designed to support them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding complex business processes, challenging the status quo, and turning customer requirements into scalable future-state solutions. You’ll work across business processes, accounting workflows, data, integrations, and Vividly configuration to ensure our customers are set up correctly from the beginning.

The Solutions Architect is a critical part of our customer onboarding experience. You’ll help preserve continuity from Sales through Implementation, ensure requirements are understood before teams begin building, and keep multiple implementation work streams aligned around one cohesive solution.

What You’ll Achieve

As a Solutions Architect, you’ll become an expert in Vividly, CPG trade workflows, customer business processes, ERP ecosystems, and how our different solutions come together.

You’ll engage early in the customer journey to understand what was sold, why the customer purchased Vividly, and what outcomes they expect to achieve. Following Closed Won, you’ll lead Solution Alignment to validate requirements, future-state workflows, technical dependencies, assumptions, and implementation scope before execution begins.

You’ll design solutions across areas such as Trade Promotion Management, Deduction Management, Cash Application, accruals, forecasting, revenue data, master data, file retrieval, and ERP integrations. You won't personally configure every workflow or build every integration. Instead, you'll create the solution blueprint that enables Implementation, Integrations, Managed Services, and Customer Success to execute successfully.

Throughout onboarding, you’ll remain the owner of solution integrity, helping resolve ambiguity, evaluate changes, and ensure individual work streams don't make decisions that compromise the overall customer solution.

Beyond individual implementations, you’ll identify recurring patterns, process gaps, and opportunities to standardize how Vividly designs and delivers solutions so that onboarding becomes increasingly faster, more predictable, and scalable.

In This Role, You’ll Help The Team:
  • Review pre-sales discovery, commitments, requirements, and proposed solutions to ensure continuity from Sales into onboarding.
  • Lead customer Solution Alignment sessions to validate business objectives, requirements, workflows, dependencies, assumptions, and success criteria.
  • Understand customers' current-state processes and design scalable future-state workflows using Vividly.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear solution designs that Implementation, Integrations, Managed Services, and Customer Success can execute against.
  • Design solutions across trade planning, deductions, Cash Application, accruals, forecasting, reporting, pricing, customer/product hierarchies, revenue, and related workflows.
  • Understand how Vividly fits within the customer's broader ecosystem, including ERP systems, banks, retailer/distributor data, syndicated data, and other business systems.
  • Partner with Integration Solutions Engineering to define integration requirements, data flows, system dependencies, cadence, and technical constraints.
  • Partner with Managed Services to define document retrieval, deduction, and operational requirements.
  • Define clear requirements and acceptance criteria before configuration or development begins.
  • Identify potential implementation risks, dependencies, scope gaps, and product limitations early enough to prevent downstream rework.
  • Maintain clear documentation of solution decisions, workflows, requirements, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Provide Implementation with an actionable blueprint for portal configuration and customer setup.
  • Remain engaged throughout onboarding to answer design questions and resolve ambiguity without taking over day-to-day project management.
  • Evaluate new requirements discovered during implementation and determine whether they represent configuration changes, integration requirements, product gaps, or changes in scope.
  • Support change-order and re-scoping conversations when customer requirements materially differ from the approved solution.
  • Participate in critical implementation checkpoints, design reviews, UAT, and go-live readiness when solution validation is required.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on recurring customer requirements, product gaps, and opportunities to improve Vividly's capabilities.
  • Help establish reusable solution patterns, implementation standards, discovery frameworks, and best practices that reduce customization and accelerate onboarding.
  • Ensure critical solution context transfers cleanly to Customer Success so customers don't lose continuity after go-live.
You May Be A Good Fit For The Role If You:
  • Have 4+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Solutions Consulting, Implementation Consulting, Business Systems, ERP consulting, CPG technology, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Have experience understanding complex business processes and translating them into scalable system or workflow designs.
  • Can move comfortably between business requirements and technical conversations without needing to personally engineer every solution.
  • Understand financial or operational workflows such as deductions, accounts receivable, accruals, revenue, forecasting, reconciliation, or accounting.
  • Have experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Understand integration concepts including APIs, data flows, field mappings, master data, authentication, and system dependencies.
  • Can facilitate complex conversations involving Accounting, Finance, Sales, Operations, IT, and executive stakeholders.
  • Are comfortable challenging existing processes and recommending a better future-state approach rather than simply recreating what a customer does today.
  • Can distinguish between a business requirement, configuration requirement, integration requirement, product gap, and scope change.
  • Have strong documentation skills and can turn ambiguous conversations into clear requirements and decisions.
  • Are comfortable working directly with customers and establishing credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Can manage ambiguity, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and know when additional expertise is required.
  • Learn quickly and can develop expertise across new products, workflows, ERP systems, and customer use cases.
  • Are highly organized and capable of maintaining context across multiple complex customer implementations.
  • Are comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment where processes are evolving and you'll help improve them.
  • Have strong judgment, executive presence, and communication skills.
  • Want to have a foundational impact on how a growing SaaS organization delivers complex customer solutions.

Experience with CPG, Trade Promotion Management, Deduction Management, Cash Application, Sales Finance, or CPG accounting is strongly preferred, but we would also consider candidates with strong solution architecture experience in adjacent financial or operational SaaS environments who demonstrate the ability to learn the industry quickly.

How You'll Work

You’ll work closely with Solutions Engineering, Implementation, Integrations, Managed Services, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering.

Our operating model is built around a simple principle:

Solutions Engineering determines how Vividly can solve the customer's problem. Solution Architecture defines how that solution should operate. Our delivery teams make it happen.

You'll typically enter the customer journey during late-stage solutioning or immediately following Closed Won. Your first responsibility is to establish Solution Alignment, ensuring the customer's objectives, workflows, scope, requirements, and technical dependencies are understood before teams begin execution.

From there:

Implementation

owns the project plan, customer coordination, configuration, milestones, and overall execution.

Integration Solutions Engineering

determines how systems connect and owns the technical integration workstream.

Managed Services

establishes and operates applicable retrieval and managed workflows.

Customer Success

owns adoption, value realization, and the long-term customer relationship.

You own the integrity of the solution across those workstreams.

There will naturally be overlap. We expect Solutions Architects to understand enough about configuration, integrations, accounting, and customer operations to make informed recommendations and identify when something isn't working. At the same time, you won't be expected to personally manage every project task, configure every customer environment, or build every integration.

The goal is to give customers one cohesive solution rather than a collection of disconnected workstreams, while giving our delivery teams the clarity they need to execute quickly and confidently.

What Success Looks Like

You'll know you're succeeding when:

  • Customers don't have to restart discovery after Closed Won.
  • Solution Alignment identifies material requirements and risks before configuration or integration work begins.
  • Delivery teams understand exactly what they're building and why.
  • Fewer requirements are discovered late in implementation.
  • Rework and mid-implementation scope changes decrease.
  • Portal, Integration, and Managed Services workstreams remain aligned to one solution.
  • Customers are guided toward scalable Vividly best practices rather than unnecessarily recreating legacy processes.
  • Implementation timelines become shorter and more predictable.
  • Customer Success receives clear context on the solution, customer objectives, and operating model at handoff.
  • Customers reach value faster because Vividly was designed correctly from the beginning.
