Job summary

Dexian is seeking a Solution Architect I - Enterprise Technology Architecture in Dublin, CA to shape the technology landscape for a major retail client. You will partner with IT and business stakeholders to design scalable solutions spanning supply chain, stores, and operations, with emphasis on availability, security, and cost efficiency.

You’ll define roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and establish architecture standards while collaborating with security, portfolio, and application

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT or related field.
• 5-10+ years of IT/architecture experience.
• 5+ years in enterprise or technology architecture, preferably in retail.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise technology architecture guidance for strategic projects and initiatives.
• Develop technology strategies and multi-year architecture roadmaps.
• Design and evaluate enterprise infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, and identity solutions.
• Research and evaluate technology products, platforms, and vendors.
• Conduct TCO and ROI analysis to support decisions.
• Develop and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs.
• Collaborate with various architects to craft holistic solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Present architecture recommendations to technical teams and leadership.
• Contribute to budgeting, planning, and delivery estimates.
• Assess lifecycle, obsolescence, and risk for long-term planning.
• Engage with external providers and system integrators.

Solution Architect - Enterprise Technology Architecture

About the Role

We are seeking a Solution Architect I - Enterprise Technology Architecture to help shape and evolve the technology landscape for a leading retail organization.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and business strategy. You will partner with IT leaders, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technology vendors to design scalable technology solutions that support critical business areas including Supply Chain, Stores, and enterprise operations.

You will help define technology roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, develop architecture standards, and ensure solutions are designed for long-term scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Provide enterprise technology architecture guidance for strategic projects and business initiatives.
• Develop technology strategies and multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Design and evaluate enterprise infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, database, storage, and identity solutions.
• Research and evaluate technology products, platforms, and vendors.
• Conduct TCO and ROI analysis to support technology decisions and investment recommendations.
• Develop and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs.
• Partner with Enterprise, Application, Security, and Portfolio Architects to develop holistic solutions.
• Work with business and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Present architecture recommendations and strategic proposals to technical teams and executive leadership.
• Provide technical input into project estimation, planning, budgeting, and delivery.
• Evaluate technology lifecycle, obsolescence, and risk as part of long-term planning.
• Collaborate with external technology providers, system integrators, and vendors.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for availability, recoverability, scalability, performance, and supportability.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10+ years of experience in IT, technology solutions, infrastructure, architecture, and/or technology consulting.
• 5+ years of enterprise or technology architecture experience, preferably in retail or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and technology architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft and Azure technologies, including:
• Windows Server
• SQL Server
• Active Directory / Entra ID
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments, including RHEL and Oracle.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, HCI, or virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage, SAN, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Understanding of network and security technologies.
• Experience developing architecture standards, roadmaps, and technology strategies.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Industry Experience

Experience in retail, supply chain, warehouse operations, logistics, or other large-scale enterprise environments is highly valued.

Experience working for a major retailer or technology consulting organization is a plus.
