Job summary

Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County's Eskenazi Health division seeks a Solutions Analyst-Pharmacist to design complex software solutions for improving workflows and integrating systems. The role requires active pharmacist licensure and deep knowledge of Epic/EHR environments to deliver high-quality, customized solutions.

You will coordinate issue resolution across applications, support deployment of system changes, and mentor team members while maintaining alignment with hospital

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Post-secondary certification with Epic experience.
  • Operational and project management experience; current Epic and NVT certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for applications, coordinating issues across areas.
  • Lead team meetings and assist Product Director with deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide end-user support for EHR systems.
  • Develop and document procedures for system changes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with external EHR staff to align operational needs with Eskenazi Health policies.

Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Solutions Analyst-Pharmacist is responsible for developing complex software solutions to build efficiencies, integrate systems, solve business problems, and/or predict and prevent system failures. This position demonstrates knowledge about Eskenazi Health's policies, procedures, and business operations and is certified or proficient in multiple applications. The Solutions Analyst-Pharmacist coordinates issue resolution across applications. The incumbent employs formalized development methodology and practices to ensure delivery of the highest quality customized solutions, contributing to the successful accomplishment of the primary mission and continued development of Eskenazi Health. The Solutions Analyst-Pharmacist ensures the development of healthy working relationships with operational counterparts. This position supports the management team's efforts to deliver custom solutions which meet detailed specifications intended to satisfy the documented business needs, as well as understands and supports developmental processes and procedures, which are established to explicitly drive business processes. In addition to carrying out above functions, this role must maintain active licensure as a Pharmacist.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach, and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health values of P.R.I.D.E. (Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development, and Excellence)
  • Acts as a primary contact for an application; engages with customers and coordinates issues that arise across application areas
  • Leads team meetings
  • Assists Product Director with deliverables
  • Facilitates the problem resolution process
  • Demonstrates understanding of and directs the choices involved in application configuration
  • Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection report details, and other technical issues associated with EHR software
  • Develops and documents internal procedures as appropriate
  • Develops and documents project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks
  • Troubleshoots problems and questions from end users and serves as a resource to IS/IT team members
  • Assists external EHR staff to better understand Eskenazi Health's operational needs; validates workflows; builds and configures content based on system structure
  • Demonstrates astute awareness of unique needs and anticipated changes of end users; performs analysis of EHR content and negotiation of any user requested modifications/alternatives; completes modification/build of content based on operational decisions in collaboration with team and Epic TS/resources
  • Utilizes resources as appropriate; strategizes for potential untapped resources
  • Populates databases documenting decisions and system build
  • Prepares details of specifications as needed
  • Seeks out educational, teaching, coaching, and mentoring opportunities
