Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics seeks a Solution Design Engineer to pursue and execute automation, operations, and process engineering engagements for clients, helping them meet strategic business goals.

You will engage in strategic sales of automation systems, analyze data, and design material handling systems using computer simulation to optimize processes. Travel is approximately 20% for onsite engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related fields.
• Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI, Alteryx, SQL) preferred.
• Understanding of supply chains and distribution or manufacturing systems is a plus.
• Experience with computer simulation (FlexSim, Demo3D, Arena) a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Employees must follow information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Job description

Our Solution Design Engineers pursue and execute automation, operations, and process engineering consulting engagements for new and existing clients, helping them to meet their strategic business goals. The Solution Design Engineers also engage in strategic sales of automation systems, through the use of Data Analysis, Material Handling System Design, and Computer Simulation.

General Job Duties

• Ability to develop excellent client relationships and earn their trust though superior problem solving and hard work.
• Close major system sales through a "top down" consultative selling approach. Beat our competition by providing the best solutions in the industry.
• Become a thought leader in distribution systems and automation.
• Assist in pursuing new clients for consulting services.
• Coordinate with specific resources (software engineers, controls engineers, CAD / Simulation Engineers, etc.) to prepare reports and proposals.
• Continue to enhance and refine the tools / methodologies we use.
• Maintain your education on a wide variety of material handling automation and simulation software areas.
• Provide excellent analysis of customer's operational data used to design superior processes and systems.
• Provide computer simulation modeling of proposed material handling systems.
• Build confidence with clients when making formal presentations.

Travel Requirements

• 20% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)
