Job summary

Dematic is seeking a senior Controls Engineer to design and commission automated material handling systems, including electrical design, PLC, HMI and drives. You will prepare estimates, read schematics, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for customers across the United States.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Engineering, has 5+ years in controls engineering, and is proficient with Rockwell RSLogix, RSLogix software, and Dematic Flexsort.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Engineering.
5+ years of successful experience in controls engineering and material handling.
Experience in designing and commissioning automated material handling systems, including electrical design, PLC, HMI, and drives.
Experience with estimating projects preferred (hours required, resources required, etc.).
Proficient in Rockwell Automation PLC programming languages with RSLogix software.
Understanding of serial and ethernet based communications and protocols.
Material Handling Equipment experience with conveyance and sortation systems, including PLC hardware upgrades, VFD upgrades, Dematic Flexsort, and industrial networking; ability to concept solutions and generate estimates to support Sales requests.
Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to interpret complex, less clearly defined issues in controls work; communicate with customers to capture requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's in Engineering
5 years or more of successful experience in related field (controls engineering and material handling)
Experience in designing and commissioning automated material handling systems, including electrical design, PLC, HMI, and drives
Experience with estimating projects preferred (hours required, resources required, etc.)
Proficient in Rockwell Automation PLC programming languages with the RSLogix software
