Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Enterprise Data and Analytics Solution Architect to lead the data and analytics architecture strategy. The role focuses on scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts, aligning with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with clinical and IT stakeholders, guide implementation roadmaps, ensure data governance and security, and stay current with cloud and analytics technologies to drive innovation across the analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytics, information services, or healthcare is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant data engineering and analytics experience.
• Two (2) years of data and analytics architecture experience preferred.
• Certification in cloud, Epic Cogito, or Microsoft Fabric preferred.

Summary

The Enterprise Data and Analytics Solution Architect will lead ACH's data and analytics architecture strategy. This role is pivotal in enhancing the value of the Enterprise Analytics platform by designing scalable, high-performance data and analytics solutions. The architect will stay current with the latest advanced analytics technologies, tools, and platforms, and recommend those that ACH should adapt. Collaboration with key clinical and business stakeholders, data scientists, and IT teams is essential to ensure the analytics architecture meets the hospital's current and future needs. A strong technical background in data and analytics, the ability to work with highly skilled technical professionals, and effective collaboration within both the Enterprise Data and Analytics unit and the hospital are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with hospital management and data consumers to understand current and future analytics requirements, establish the strategic architecture, and prioritize the implementation and use of analytics solutions.
2. Define the future reference architecture for ACH, including a prioritized roadmap with timelines, costs, and technologies. The reference architecture should encompass scalable data architecture solutions such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts to support advanced analytics requirements.
3. Support best practices for data governance, data security, and data quality assurance.
4. Evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of data and analytics platform.
5. Oversees the development and optimization of data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
6. Responsible for the architecture framework that guides the data and analytics projects, from requirements gathering and solution design to implementation and deployment.
7. Emerging Technologies Evaluation: Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics. Evaluate new tools and platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
8. Epic Data Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of our Epic data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
9. Responsible maintaining and develop designs and patterns to approaching analytic projects.
10. Lead/participate in the Analytics Data Triage project/request meeting ensuring the reference architecture is used for each solution.

Technical Expertise

1. Knowledge and experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics and reporting tools, preferably Epic's data warehouse.
2. Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Fabric, etc.
3. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of management.
4. Experience working with various levels within an organization is preferred.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite 365 [Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree required in related field of analytics, information services, or healthcare.
2. Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills, required.
3. Master's degree with focus on analytics/computer science, healthcare, or business preferred.
4. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant data engineering and analytics experience required.
5. Two (2) years of data and analytics architecture experience preferred.
6. Certification: None required, certification in cloud, Epic Cogito, Microsoft Fabric, preferred
