JOB PURPOSE:

The Solution Architect will lead the design and implementation of technology solutions for our emerging Athlete Experience investments in commerce and Store Tech domains. This includes modernizing systems to deliver cloud-native, omni-channel capabilities for both online and in-store experiences.

Technology Design:

Drive end-to-end technology designs for significant business opportunities, leveraging forward-looking technologies to create next-generation experiences for athletes and teammates. Collaborate across functions to develop solutions that bring consensus and drive business value.

Collaboration:

Work with stakeholders and product teams to translate business goals into technology capabilities. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to create designs that follow architecture patterns, best practices, and ensure technological consistency and reliability.

Documentation:

Produce artifacts assessing business and system impacts, publish diagrams, and review non-functional requirements to ensure platform and infrastructure alignment.

Integration:

Incorporate security, compliance, reliability, and performance controls to meet non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

• Stay current on emerging trends and act as an expert in the domain, influencing teams to innovate.
• Lead technical architecture initiatives, including proof-of-concepts and reference architectures.
• Recommends and participates in solution architecture work, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Solution Leadership:

• Create and maintain technology system views and roadmaps.
• Ensure architecture consistency and drive execution of large initiatives.

Solution Design & Delivery:

• Lead technical design discussions and drive solution implementation with engineering teams.
• Maintain oversight on technical reviews, risks, and domain direction.
• Share best practices and update architecture based on new technologies.

Desired Tech Stack:

• Experience with cloud SaaS/PaaS, data/storage platforms, Azure cloud services, Kubernetes/Azure K8S, and refactoring monolithic applications to service-oriented and event-driven architectures.

Job Requirements:

• Experience as a technical architect in retail or marketing projects preferred.
• Designing solutions for retail including e-commerce, store tech, merchandising, or supply chain is advantageous.
• Experience with architectures, POCs, and translating artifacts into stakeholder communications.
• Collaboration with product management and business stakeholders.

Bonus Points:

• Hands-on experience with Azure and GCP cloud engineering.
• Leadership experience with engineering and vendor teams.
• Full-stack development experience across compute, data, streaming, and container architectures.
• Knowledge of retail tech, e-commerce, and marketing cloud platforms.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience supervising junior colleagues for 7-12 months.
