Overview

Title: Solution Architect Location: Remote (Based in Rochester, MN)

Your Role & Responsibilities

• Design and define scalable, secure architecture for an internal API Marketplace platform.
• Lead discovery efforts around build vs. buy decisions for the platform’s front-end integration with Apigee.
• Guide product teams in capturing features and epics that align with technical strategy and roadmap.
• Establish architectural best practices, security standards, and development governance across teams.
• Oversee integration with existing cloud infrastructure across GCP, Azure, and AWS.
• Ensure platform scalability, performance optimization, and high reliability.
• Support agile development teams with architecture-to-design guidance, documentation, and mentorship.

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

• 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise data systems, or software engineering.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, API governance, and API platform development.
• Experience with Apigee or similar API management tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture and microservices design.
• Proficiency in Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills—able to align technical and business goals.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with Backstage.io.
• Healthcare tech background or familiarity with clinical data ecosystems.
• Proven ability to lead discovery and system integration planning.

Education & Certifications You Need

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience (including 3+ years technical and 1+ year in a leadership role), or
• Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience meeting the same criteria.
• Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
