Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to design end-to-end architectures that align with business needs and enterprise standards. The role translates functional requirements into scalable, secure designs and guides delivery teams through the lifecycle.

You will lead architecture governance, develop patterns, mentor engineers, and evaluate cloud-native technologies to drive lean, cost-effective solutions while ensuring security and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Eng, or related field.
• 10+ years designing and implementing software solutions across diverse stacks.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture or solution governance.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Certifications (AWS Architect, Kubernetes, TOGAF) are a plus.
• Willingness to travel and pass background/drug screening.

As part of our Enterprise Architecture practice, this role is responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end solution architectures that align with business requirements and enterprise standards. The Solution Architect supports project teams by translating functional needs into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical designs across our digital solutions landscape.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Solution Architect with a strong track record of designing scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into end-to-end solution designs that align with enterprise architecture standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural integrity throughout the development lifecycle and deliver value through well-structured, cost-effective solutions.

Penske Responsibilities:

• Design and document solution architectures that align with enterprise standards and meet business and technical requirements.
• Develop solution-level design patterns, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and reusability.
• Ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of systems through thoughtful architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align individual project solutions with broader enterprise goals.
• Provide technical insights to support decision-making during solution planning and delivery.
• Participate in architecture reviews and support compliance with architectural governance.
• Mentor developers and junior architects to uplift technical delivery and solution quality.
• Support the evaluation and integration of modern technologies and cloud-native services into solution designs.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts to validate architectural approaches before adoption.

Penske Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing software solutions across diverse technology stacks.
• Experience working within or closely with an Enterprise Architecture or solution governance practice.
• Solid background in solution architecture, integration design, and modern application patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and recommend technical approaches.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across business, development, and infrastructure teams.
• Technical depth in areas such as microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD practices.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Architect, Kubernetes, TOGAF) are a plus.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
