Job summary

Penske is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design end-to-end architectures aligning with enterprise standards. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure technical designs and guide cross-functional teams through development lifecycles to deliver value.

You will mentor developers, participate in architecture reviews, and help adopt cloud-native services and modern patterns across Penske’s digital solutions landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing software solutions across diverse technology stacks.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture or solution governance practices.
• Strong background in solution architecture, integration design, and modern application patterns.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
• Excellent communication skills and collaboration across teams.
• Technical depth in microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD practices.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Architect, Kubernetes, TOGAF) are a plus.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete Penske employment processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and document solution architectures that align with enterprise standards and meet business and technical requirements.
• Develop solution-level design patterns, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and reusability.
• Ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of systems through architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project solutions with enterprise goals.
• Provide technical insights to support decision-making during solution planning and delivery.
• Participate in architecture reviews and support governance.
• Mentor developers and junior architects to uplift delivery quality.
• Support evaluation and integration of modern technologies and cloud-native services.
• Contribute to PoC efforts to validate architectural approaches.
• Advocate for lean and agile practices to streamline design and implementation.
• Assist in aligning project outcomes with security and enterprise policy requirements.
