Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in application architecture, solution architecture, enterprise applications, or software engineering.

• Strong experience with payment gateway implementations and payment application architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design application solutions across Web, Mobile App, Kiosk, POS, and enterprise apps including payments and data services.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable architectures.
• Define boundaries, dependencies, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns.
• Evaluate existing applications and maintain architecture repository.
• Identify opportunities to simplify the landscape and reduce technical debt.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
• Develop POCs to validate architecture and technology decisions.
• Ensure changes support consistent guest and operational experience.
• Identify reusable services and cross-channel capabilities.
• Design using AWS and cloud-native technologies.
• Ensure scalability, availability, resiliency, performance, and DR.
• Evaluate AWS services and architectural patterns for apps and payments.
• Define observability requirements including logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting.
• Consider performance and cost in architecture decisions.
• Ensure implementation aligns with approved architecture.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and debt and drive resolution.
• Participate in architecture governance and collaborate with other architects.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, POS, Digital, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and Operations teams.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join the Digital, Enterprise & AI Technology team and provide hands on architecture support for a various strategic Programs which span across Digital, Restaurant, payments and Enterprise applications.

This Architect will work closely with Engineering, Product, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, POS, Finance, Operations, and external technology partners and will be responsible for end-to-end solution architecture across Digital and Enterprise initiatives. with deep experience ecommerce solutions across Web, Mobile, Kiosk, POS, enterprise applications, integrations, and AWS.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing digital and enterprise application solutions with deep experience ecommerce solutions across Web, Mobile, Kiosk, POS, enterprise applications, integrations, and AWS. The role requires someone who can understand complex application ecosystems, identify dependencies, design scalable solutions, and translate business requirements into practical technical architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

Design application solutions across Web, Mobile App, Kiosk, POS, backend services, and enterprise applications that include payments, finance, data services, Infra.

Translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable application architectures.

Define application boundaries, responsibilities, dependencies, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns.

Evaluate existing applications and maintain architecture repository updated.

Identify opportunities to simplify the application landscape and reduce technical debt.

Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and technology standards.

Develop POCs and prototypes when required to validate architecture and technology decisions.

Ensure application changes support a consistent guest and operational experience.

Identify opportunities for reusable services and common application capabilities across channels.

Design application solutions using AWS and cloud-native technologies.

Ensure application architecture meets required scalability, availability, resiliency, performance, and disaster recovery objectives.

Evaluate AWS services and architectural patterns appropriate for application and payment workloads.

Define application observability requirements including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.

Consider performance and cost optimization as part of architecture decisions.

Ensure implementation teams remain aligned with the approved architecture.

Identify architecture risks, dependencies, and technical debt and drive them toward resolution.

Participate in architecture governance forums and collaborate with other architects across the organization.

Partner with Product, Engineering, POS, Digital, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and Operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience in application architecture, solution architecture, enterprise applications, or software engineering.

Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise application solutions.

Strong experience with payment gateway implementations and payment application architecture.

Experience designing solutions across Web, Mobile, Kiosk, and POS environments.

Strong understanding of enterprise application integration and distributed systems.

Strong experience with REST APIs, micro services, API gateways, and application integration patterns.

Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture.

Experience working with third-party technology vendors and implementation partners.

Experience with high-volume transactional applications.

Understanding of payment transaction flows and payment gateway concepts.

Experience with application security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and sensitive data handling.

Strong understanding of application NFRs including performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, and observability.

Strong architecture documentation and technical decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience with restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other high-volume transaction environments.

Experience leading a payment gateway replacement or modernization program.

Experience with restaurant and enterprise application architecture.

Experience with AWS serverless and cloud-native architectures.

Experience with distributed tracing and modern observability platforms.

AWS or Enterprise Architecture certification is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
