Job summary

Infosys Limited in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Principal Consultant for Infrastructure Management to lead 24x7 Solr operations and complex IT infrastructure improvements. The role focuses on diagnostics, monitoring, security, and scalable deployments within the Infosys Delivery unit in the US.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize performance, implement automation, and ensure incident resolution with root-cause analysis, while adhering to SLAs and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required. Three years of progressive experience may substitute for education.
  • This role may require relocation/travel to work/project location.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (Infosys cannot sponsor).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 support for Solr node availability.
  • Coordinate and approve maintenance requests for Solr nodes.
  • Support incidents as primary on-call Solr Database Administrator.
  • Build, maintain, change configurations and decommission Solr clusters.
  • Proactive and reactive server maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Service Administrators and Data Center Team to fix host issues.
  • Support cluster rolling bounce, kernel patching, java upgrades, and related activities.
  • Setup alerts and dashboards in monitoring tools like Splunk/Hubble.
  • Migrate data between clusters; create automation and tooling for day-to-day ops.
  • Manage host cleanup (Disk/CPU) as required.

In the assigned Job Role of Infrastructure Consultant 3, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:
  • Develop diagnostic tools, establish monitoring protocols, and resolve complex incidents through root cause analysis while ensuring SLA adherence and creating action plans to prevent recurrence
  • Conduct detailed IT infrastructure evaluations and due diligence across multiple tracks, identify gaps and risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to recommend tailored enhancements and validate infrastructure details
  • Create scalable, secure, and high-performing IT infrastructure solutions
  • Optimize deployment processes, ensure environment readiness, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to creation of deployment documentation
  • Develop and implement robust change management protocols to minimize risks, analyze proposed changes, and ensure smooth integration of system and technology updates
  • Analyze and enhance system performance by implementing advanced monitoring tools, addressing capacity needs, and designing solutions to prevent bottlenecks
  • Implement security measures and disaster recovery strategies including risk assessments
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, design and implement automation tools, and evaluate their impact to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with multi-vendor and cross-functional teams to ensure project execution and document project activities
  • Create specialized knowledge repositories, document methodologies, and drive learning to preserve organizational insights and enhance team efficiency

Required Skill and Experience
  • Perform 24x7 support for Solr node availability

  • Support incidents as primary on-call Solr Database Administration
  • Build, maintain, change configurations and decommission Solr clusters
  • Proactive and reactive server maintenances
  • Work with Service Administrators and Data Center Team to fix the host issues.
  • Support Cluster rolling bounce, kernel patching, java upgrade and related activities
  • Setup alerts and dashboard in Hubble and configure monitoring through Splunk
  • Data migration from old to new clusters using exiting infrastructure
  • Create Automation and maintain various tools and utility scripts for day-to-day operations
  • Manage host cleanup as requested (Disk or CPU resources)
Preferred Skill and Experience
  • Experienced working on supporting Java applications is a plus
  • Seasoned using monitoring and logging solutions such as: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk is an added advantage
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
