Job summary

prosource.it in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Project Designer to support the design and execution of RNG, landfill gas-to-energy, and biogas systems. You will develop 3D models, layouts, and documentation for custom packaged equipment, collaborating with Project Engineers.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of mechanical design experience and strong SolidWorks skills, with a focus on safety and quality. This is an in-office, full-time role with no travel requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years mechanical design experience in industrial/energy/processing sectors.
• Strong SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience, including routing.
• Experience with packaged equipment, piping systems, or skid-mounted equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design skid-mounted process equipment, piping systems, and mechanical assemblies.
• Develop equipment layouts, BOMs, and project drawing packages.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers to deliver cost-effective, safe, and reliable designs.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
• Prepare operating, maintenance, and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.
