Job summary

Royal Truck & Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to draft changes to engineering drawings using 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) to support manufacturing problem resolution.

The role includes updating BOMs, assigning new part numbers, and coordinating with Engineering software, PDM and MRP systems. On-site work in a manufacturing environment requires attention to tolerances and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or drafting preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D software.
• Minimum 1 year design and drafting experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use measuring tools.
• Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Examine defective or incorrect parts as indicated by manufacturing personnel.
• Design and draft detail drawings of machinery and mechanical devices with appropriate tolerances and materials.
• Assign or set up new part numbers and maintain BOMs as needed.
• Submit drawing changes for supervisor approval and implement.
• Coordinate Engineering software, PDM and MRP updates and troubleshoot problems.
