You’ll create production-ready CAD models and drawings, assess manufacturability, and collaborate with machinists and fabricators on custom metal parts. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a manufacturing setting using SolidWorks, with strong reading of drawings, GD&T, and a hands-on approach to fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with custom metal parts produced from customer drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of metal manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Experience creating or modifying production-ready drawings and models.
• Ability to evaluate a design for manufacturability.
• Experience working with machinists, welders, fabricators, CNC operators, or other manufacturing professionals.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, CAD files, sketches, and specs to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Create, modify, and maintain DXF files, 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Turn customer designs into production-ready solutions for custom metal parts.
• Review drawings for missing dimensions, tolerances, material requirements, and potential issues.
• Collaborate with shop floor to troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges.
• Maintain production drawings and BOMs, and communicate with customers as needed.
