Job summary

Vervic Inc. in Decatur, AL seeks a SolidWorks Engineer / Technician to bridge design and fabrication, turning customer drawings into production parts. You’ll work with customers, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality metal components.

You’ll review drawings, create/modify SolidWorks models, and ensure manufacturability while collaborating with machinists, welders, and CNC operators. Hands-on problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SolidWorks experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Understanding of metal manufacturing processes and GD&T.
• Experience creating production-ready drawings and models.
• Ability to evaluate design manufacturability and cost.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, CAD files, sketches, and specs for manufacturing needs.
• Create/modify/maintain DXF files, 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
• Convert designs into production-ready solutions for custom metal parts.
• Check drawings for missing dimensions, tolerances, materials, and issues.
• Collaborate with machinists, welders, fabricators, CNC operators to troubleshoot.
• Implement design changes based on shop-floor feedback and production needs.
• Assist with material, labor, and fabrication estimation.
• Generate and maintain accurate production drawings, BOMs, and docs.
