Job summary

MANTECH in Crane, IN seeks a dedicated Draftsman to join our engineering team onsite. You will create high-fidelity 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks, adhering to ASME Y14.5 and MIL-STD-31000, while supporting DoD data packaging and BOM accuracy.

You will collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers, ensure designs are producible via DFM/DFA, and contribute to ECNs/ECPs. U.S. citizenship and an active or interim Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ years of professional experience as a Draftsman, CAD Technician or CAD Designer
• 3+ years of experience using SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, large assembly management, and 2D drafting
• Experience developing drawings for military applications and adhering to MIL-STD-31000 requirements

Responsibilities

• Create high-fidelity 3D models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks while ensuring compliance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards and managing version control
• Support the development of comprehensive Technical Data Packages (TDPs), including assembly, sub-assembly, and detailed part drawings for military applications
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical and Systems Engineers to refine designs based on analysis and testing results, ensuring CAD models include all necessary metadata
• Interface with manufacturing teams to ensure all designs are optimized for production through DFM/DFA principles
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the CAD environment and assist in the preparation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Proposals (ECPs)
• Ensure all documentation adheres to specific Department of Defense (DoD) formatting and security marking requirements
• Perform critical quality assurance through self-checks, peer reviews, and providing dimensional data for First Article Inspection (FAI) processes
