Job summary

Cabot Coach Builders is seeking a SolidWorks Draftsman & CNC Programmer to convert engineering concepts into production-ready CAD models and drawings. You will draft 2D prints from 3D assemblies, prepare CNC files, and support fabrication with accurate documentation.

Hybrid role on a production floor with emphasis on drafting, documentation, and manufacturing support. Requires SolidWorks proficiency and hands-on fabrication awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
• Production-ready drawings with dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience measuring parts and modeling CAD from components.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Experience preparing CNC ready profiles or manufacturing files.
• Strong attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Convert 3D assemblies into fully dimensioned 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Document existing parts and assemblies into production prints.
• Generate flat patterns, bend allowances, and forming details for sheet metal.
• Create CNC ready profiles for metal, wood and composite components.
• Accurately measure and model complex curves and radii from real parts.
• Revise drawings based on shop feedback and as built conditions.
• Support CNC programming and fabrication processes.
• Verify parts match drawings and tolerances; assist with QC.
