Actalent is seeking a SolidWorks Drafter / 3D CAD Designer for custom fabrication projects in Brooklyn, NY. This contract role focuses on turning creative concepts into accurate, buildable 3D models and shop drawings for immersive installations, retail displays, and architectural features.

You will develop 3D models in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Inventor, generate fabrication-ready drawings, and support multi-project workloads with cross-functional teams.

• 1+ years of professional drafting or CAD design experience.
• Proficiency in at least one parametric 3D modeling program: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience producing detailed shop drawings and fabrication-ready documentation.
• Understanding of fabrication methods, materials, assembly processes, and manufacturing requirements.
• Ability to interpret design concepts and convert them into accurate, production-ready technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote project teams.
• Availability to work during Eastern Time business hours.
• Ability to provide samples of completed shop drawings or fabrication documentation.

• Independently troubleshoot design challenges and communicate solutions clearly to project stakeholders.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation provide clear instructions for fabrication and assembly.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional drafting or CAD design experience, ideally within a custom fabrication or manufacturing environment.


• Proficiency in at least one parametric 3D modeling program: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Autodesk Inventor.


• Demonstrated experience producing detailed shop drawings and fabrication‑ready documentation.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
