Pro Staff in Columbia, MD is seeking a SolidWorks Designer to create detailed 3D CAD models and precise 2D drawings for manufacturing and engineering projects. The role emphasizes accuracy, GD&T proficiency, and collaboration with engineering teams on design changes.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree (preferred) and experience with SolidWorks or CREO, reading complex mechanical blueprints, and understanding tolerances and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred in drafting, design technology, mechanical engineering technology, or related field.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and/or CREO for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and technical documentation.
• Experience with ANSI and MIL-STD standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models from engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications.
• Develop accurate 2D production, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
• Update and revise existing engineering documentation based on design changes.
• Ensure drawings and models meet quality, tolerance, and company standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to support product development and solve design challenges.
• Maintain organized design files and technical documentation.
• Support engineering teams with drafting and design-related projects.
