Advantage Technical is seeking a SolidWorks Designer to join our Columbia, MD team on-site. You will create 3D CAD models, production drawings, and detailed documentation to support manufacturing and engineering programs. Strong SolidWorks and CREO skills, GD&T knowledge, and blueprint interpretation are essential.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, attention to tolerances, and maintaining organized files while contributing to project milestones and technical problem solving.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting or related field preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks and CREO for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Strong GD&T and engineering drawing standards knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and technical documentation.
• Experience with ANSI and MIL-STD standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models from concepts and specifications.
• Develop accurate 2D production, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
• Update and revise existing engineering documentation based on design changes.
• Ensure drawings and models meet quality, tolerance, and company standards; collaborate with engineers.
• Maintain organized design files and technical documentation.
• Support engineering teams with drafting and design-related projects.

Location: Columbia, MD (On-Site)

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $37.00/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Education Requirements
