Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a CAD Technician-SolidWorks specialist for our Brooklyn Center, MN location. You will turn architectural visions into buildable SolidWorks models, collaborating with PMs, engineers, and field teams to move projects from concept to fabrication.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of SolidWorks experience, a strong grasp of architectural/structural drawings, and excellent organizational skills. On-site role with competitive compensation and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in architectural technology, engineering, or equivalent CAD experience.
• 2–3 years of SolidWorks experience, especially with assemblies and weldments.
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to capture design intent and attachment conditions.
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to develop preliminary and shop drawings.
• Create and revise engineering and fabrication drawings that guide production teams.
• Coordinate with field managers to incorporate real-world measurements and feedback.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision and professionalism.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and contribute to innovative solutions.
