Job summary

A leading environmental solutions provider is seeking a full-time Solids Facility Operator in Texas. Overview

Desert Environmental, LLC, an affiliate of WaterBridge Operating, LLC, is the employer for this position.

Summary Of Position: The Solids Facility Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill facilities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

  • Operating facilities to control the flow and processing of solids and liquids.
    • Tank Bottoms (liquids and/or solids)
    • Water Based Mud
    • Produced Water or Brine Water
  • Diagnosing operating problems and performing necessary corrective action during work shifts.
  • Monitoring gauges, meters, and control panels.
  • Observing variations in operating conditions and interpreting meter and gauge readings and testing results to determine process adjustment requirements.
  • Operating valves and gates either manually or by remote control.
  • Starting and stopping pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.
  • Maintaining shift log and recording meter and gauge readings.
  • Collecting samples and performing routine laboratory tests and analyses.
  • Performing routine maintenance functions.
  • Making operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel.
  • Conducting all business activities in accordance with health and safety policies and legal compliance requirements.
  • Reporting any issues, problems, or unsafe conditions to the attention of the supervisor, superintendent, and/or HSE.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in water treatment or a similar industry is required.
  • Live in Pecos, TX, or within a 30-mile radius from Pecos, TX, required.
  • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.
  • Live in Orla, TX, or within a 60-mile radius from Orla, TX, required.
  • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.
Working Conditions / Environment
  • Operates in a field environment.
  • May be subject to environments that are extreme in nature, such as heat, cold, etc.
  • The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:
  • Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Walking on uneven and vegetated terrain; sampling activities such as hand auguring for soil sample collection.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • 14/7 (14 days on, 7 days off) Rotational Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts
